The Jandy Ammons Foundation provides capital funding for shovel-ready, standalone projects such as artistic installations, educational enhancements, wildlife or conservation features, and park or community spaces for Oregon Christian organizations and churches.

The foundation’s mission is to improve local communities through innovative, project-driven endeavors that will enhance wildlife habitats, park settings, educational surroundings, artistic installations, or Christian church mission projects.

Giving is currently focused on organizations in North Carolina, with a preference for those in the Triangle area. Grant Eligibility & Types of Support The Jandy Ammons Foundation makes grants to 501(c)(3) public charities recognized by the IRS.

The foundation focuses on specific “shovel ready” standalone projects, including the following: Wildlife/conservation/hunting projects Christian church mission endeavors Park settings/community areas Other organizations and projects uniquely within the scope of the Foundation’s mission Beyond the scope of the foundation’s mission are grant funding requests for the following: Salaries/staffing/personnel Political or lobbying interests Events, including dinners, balls, and other ticketed galas General fundraising, which could include capital campaigns The applicant must be a 501(c)(3) public charity.

Activities and/or projects proposed for funding must be charitable in nature as defined by IRS regulations and related guidance. The foundation does not make grants, loans, or scholarships to individuals of any kind, international organizations, or other private non-operating foundations or endowments. The Jandy Ammons Foundation does not support purposes outside the foundation’s funding priorities as outlined above.

Grant Application Process To apply for a grant from The Jandy Ammons Foundation, a Letter of Inquiry (LOI) must be submitted on or before February 14, 2025. The foundation will issue letters of invitation or denial to applicants on or before April 18, 2025. Organizations who receive a letter of invitation will then submit a full grant proposal.

See below for more information about the LOI and the full proposal. Submitting a Letter of Inquiry The first step in the grant application process is submitting a Letter of Inquiry (LOI). LOIs should be at least 1 and no more than 3 pages long and can be submitted at any point in the year — please note that requests for funds in 2027 must be received by February 13, 2026 .

The foundation reviews them on an annual basis only. Please include: A brief statement about the project a grant will address, as well as the history and goals of your organization and its involvement with similar past projects (if any). A brief project scope: objectives, anticipated outcomes, and any project-related activities already underway.

Expected project start date and duration. (If grant funding will not encompass the entire project, please specify grant-specific timelines.) Total amount of funding needed, the amount requested from the foundation, and information about other sources of support, both assured and requested.

Organizational contact information, EIN, and IRS Determination Letter. All letters are personally reviewed by foundation staff and/or board and committee members. You will be notified about next steps after your LOI.

The foundation requests more proposals than it can fund, thus a letter of invitation is not a pledge for financial support. The Grant Proposal Form is available for download here . To be considered, the proposal must be completed, including all attachments, by the deadlines listed below.

Following a full proposal invitation, foundation board and staff members typically visit the proposed project location to consult with project leaders for further information. Please be sure your proposal includes best contacts for coordinating the visit and any other questions. All final grant recipients must sign a Grant Agreement outlining your obligations regarding the funds.

2026 grant cycle deadlines are listed below. Please note that we accept LOIs throughout the year and we strongly encourage applicants to send LOIs well in advance of the deadline. Early LOI submission allows the foundation time to fully research your grant request.
