501(c)(3) nonprofits serving women, girls, children, or animals can seek funding to strengthen families, improve health and welfare, and promote human–animal interactions.

Charitable Funding | JKS Charitable Foundation JKS Charitable Foundation grant awards will support and develop programs that strengthen families, address issues surrounding the health and welfare of women and children, promote animal welfare, and demonstrate the beneficial interaction between humans and animals.

The Foundation will consider grants directed toward early intervention and prevention efforts in the area of drug and alcohol addiction. Providing Charitable Funding to the Community Established in 2020, the Jennie K. Scaife Charitable Foundation is the product of the generosity of the late Jennie K.

Scaife. Jennie died on November 29, 2018 and funded the Foundation through her estate. Born into a wealthy family, and a descendant of the Mellon banking family of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Jennie recognized the disparity between her family’s more comfortable life situation and those born of less means and opportunity.

During her lifetime, as the president and chairperson of the Scaife Family Foundation, Jennie worked diligently to help women and children, struggling in desperate or dangerous situations, find safety and care. With compassion and commitment, Jennie supported organizations that strengthen families and protect the most vulnerable.

It was Jennie’s lifetime goal to work quietly and with urgency, behind the scenes, to improve the lives of so many.
