With more companies expanding in and moving to Ohio, the need for qualified talent continues to grow. JobsOhio is investing $300 million in experiential learning and career awareness to strengthen the state’s talent pipeline. Programming will be deployed in phases over a 10-year period with a focus on technicians and engineers, as well as roles supporting the state’s growing technology industry.

The first phase of the initiative will launch a technician earn-and-learn program to help employers in Ohio’s critical industries — including advanced manufacturing, aerospace & defense, automotive, energy, healthcare, logistics, financial services, food and agribusiness, and technology — build the skilled workforce they need.

Program highlights include: Up to $10,000 per employee for participating Ohio employers whose employees complete key milestones in an approved experiential learning pathway. Eligible pathways include associate degrees, technical certificates, and registered apprenticeships . Participating employers must provide a minimum wage of $20 per hour , helping employees earn meaningful wages while developing in-demand skills.
