John Gutmann Photography Fellowship Award is sponsored by John Gutmann Photography Fellowship. The John Gutmann Photography Fellowship Award is presented annually to emerging photographers that demonstrate artistic commitment in artistic photography.

Photography Grants & Scholarships - Nikon Storytellers Scholarship – Established by Nikon Inc. as part of the brand’s 100th anniversary celebration, The Nikon Storytellers Scholarship supports the next generation of visual content creators.

The Nikon Storytellers Scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students at an accredited, non-profit college/university or vocational/technical school in the United States or Canada pursuing degrees in visual arts, fine arts, journalism, film, photography and multimedia/content creation who will have completed their freshman year of college or academic equivalent before Fall 2018.

Eligible students can apply to be one of ten individuals awarded with an academic scholarship of $10,000 USD, to help foster their growth and pursue careers in creative fields. The Lucie Foundation – The Lucie Foundation is proud to support emerging talent with vision and dynamic ideas that challenge and progress the art form of still photography into work that compels.

Our support of photography is broad, from Fine Art to Documentary and Photojournalism, to digital and film-based works. Our concern is to support emerging photographers producing work that is at once gripping, and original.

The Lucie Foundation is proud to offer three cash grants to support the work of emerging photographers – one $2,500 scholarship with an open theme and two $1000 scholarships for photographers working in the fields of Fine Art or Documentary/Photojournalism.

Greater Than Gatsby Scholarship – Established by Greater Than Gatsby as part of a new initiative to establish a channel of support for the next generation, the Greater Than Gatsby Photography Scholarships support the future of visual art and content creators.

Starting in the spring of 2019, two recipients will receive $1,000 USD annually to be used to help pay their tuition and academic expenses to an accredited non-profit college/university or vocational/technical school in the United States. John Gutmann Fellowship – For over sixty years, John Gutmann made an imprint as an artist and educator on the development of photography as an art form.

Through his philanthropic generosity, annual awards of $5,000 to $10,000 are made to an emerging photographers in the field of creative photography, who exhibits professional accomplishment and serious artistic commitment, along with financial need. The Imagely Fund – The Imagely Fund offers a $5000 grant to a photographer to help fund one humanitarian or environmental photography project each grant cycle.

Our goal is to provide support for projects that will have a tangible and positive impact on the world. The Aaron Siskind Foundation Fellowship Grants – The Aaron Siskind Foundation is offering a limited number of Individual Photographer’s Fellowship grants of up to $10,000 each, for artists working in photography and photo-based art.

Recipients will be determined by a panel of distinguished guest judges on the basis of artistic excellence, accomplishment to date, and the promise of future achievement in the medium in its widest sense. The Foundation seeks to support artists/photographers who demonstrate a serious commitment to the field, who are professionally active or employed in the field.

The Alexia Foundation Grants – The Alexia Foundation awards grants to student and professional visual journalists to help them produce projects that inspire change by addressing topics that are socially significant. Alexia Foundation Grants were created nearly 30 years ago to support still photographers and that remains our primary mission. We recognize that the profession more and more calls for a diverse range of story forms.

Therefore, while your submissions must have a set of still photographs, you may also submit other story forms as part of your grant application submission. Those may include audio, video, VR or any other visual format. There will be a spot on the submission site to post up to two links.

Grants are administered by the Foundation and the endowed Alexia Chair at The Newhouse School at Syracuse University. Ian Parry Scholarship – Ian Parry was a photojournalist who died while on assignment for The Sunday Times during the Romanian revolution in 1989. He was just 24 years of age.

Aidan Sullivan, then picture editor, and Ian’s friends and family created the Ian Parry Scholarship in order to build something positive from such a tragic death.
