Notable accolades include Symphony Nova Scotia’s 2022 Maria Anna Mozart Award, the 2022 Barlow Endowment commissioning prize, the 2019 Johanna Metcalf Performing Arts Prize and the 2013 Dora Mavor Moore Award for The Lesson of Da Ji .
A two-time JUNO Award nominee, Alice Ping Yee Ho has released ten solo albums, and her compositions have been performed by esteemed ensembles and orchestras such as the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Lapland Chamber Orchestra, the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra, the Polish Radio Choir and the Luxembourg Sinfonietta. Awarded annually, the Jules Léger Prize for New Chamber Music is a competition for professional composers and sound creators from Canada, designed to encourage the creation of new chamber music. The prize was established in 1978 by the Right Honourable Jules Léger, then Governor General of Canada.
