The City and Borough of Juneau developed the Juneau Affordable Housing Fund (JAHF) to promote the creation of affordable and middle-income housing in the Capital City. JAHF funds multiple programs including: the annual JAHF competitive round, the ADU Grant program , and the Manufactured Home Down Payment Assistance program .
Non-profit organizations, tribal governments, public and regional housing authorities, and for-profit developers interested in the creation of affordable and workforce housing in the City and Borough of Juneau are eligible to apply. Please see the Program Description and Guidelines document below for more information. The competition is now on its sixth year of competitive grants and loans, with the first round running in 2021.
The application for the 2026 Round Six of the Juneau Affordable Housing Fund competition will open on July 27, 2026. 2026 Program Description and Guidelines 2026 JAHF Application Form Housing Programs and Resources Public Information Meeting A public information meeting will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 3:00pm via Zoom. Meeting details will be posted by Friday, July 31, 2026.

August 3, 2026: Public Information Meeting at 3:00pm AKDT August 31, 2026 : Project Proposals due at 4:30 pm AKDT; late submissions are not accepted September 21, 2026 – October 16, 2026: Committee Review and Project Ranking Period November 2, 2026 : Committee Report to Lands, Housing, and Economic Development Committee Between December 14, 2026, and January 2027: Introduction of ordinances for grant and loan applicants at the Assembly for approval January to April 2027 (tentatively): Staff work with awardees to put grant and loan agreements in place.
