Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program is sponsored by Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA). The JAG Program is the largest federal criminal justice funding stream for state and local agencies. While not exclusively for gun crime, it can be used for gun violence reduction initiatives, including technology acquisition, investigative capacity, and training.
It operates as both a formula grant (distributed through State Administering Agencies) and a discretionary grant (competitive applications directly from BJA).
