2027 KPNC Scholarship Eligibility Criteria Be a current third-year medical student in good academic standing who expects to graduate in the spring of 2028 Interested in seeking a residency in Kaiser Permanente Northern California Attend an accredited medical, osteopathic or podiatric school Scholarship Amount $2,500 Scholarship recipients will be encouraged to participate in a one-month clerkship at any of our Kaiser Permanente Northern California Residency Programs during their fourth year of medical school.

An additional $5,000 travel stipend will be awarded once the rotation has been completed. Please Note: The scholarship amount of $2,500 will be sent directly to your medical school, with no exceptions. Applicants may apply for both the Northern California and Southern California Residency Programs scholarships; however, winners will be awarded in only one region.

Short essay describing your community involvement and your commitment to under-served communities (500 words max, included in the application below) Letter from medical, osteopathic or podiatric school confirming good academic standing Two letters of recommendation: one letter from a medical, osteopathic or podiatry school professor/clinician and one letter describing/supporting your work in under-served communities.

All supporting documentation and letters must be submitted through the online application in PDF format. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
