Grants Program | The Kansas City Royals Foundation | Kansas City Royals The Kansas City Royals Foundation Grants Program Thank you for your interest in applying for a grant from The Kansas City Royals Foundation, the charitable foundation of the Kansas City Royals. Since 2001, we have been able to provide over $32 million to support organizations across the KC Metro, including more than $3. 4 million in 2025.

We prioritize organizations that align with our three pillars : Literacy and Education, Healthy and Active Communities, and Military and Veteran Support. If you submitted or are looking to submit a grant application for a baseball or softball field renovation or improvement, please visit the Royalty Fields grants page . The 2026 grants cycle is now open from August 17 to September 14.

How to Qualify for a Grant Operate in the greater Kansas City metropolitan area, defined as Johnson and Wyandotte Counties in Kansas, and Cass, Clay, Jackson, and Platte Counties in Missouri. ​ Be a 501(c)(3) organization with a federal tax identification number​ Preference given to organizations with operating budgets not exceeding $5 million, but larger budgets do not preclude organizations from consideration for funding.

Current year organizational budget Most recent financial statements (preferably audited); and​ List of current Board of Directors, including their professional affiliations Once the application is received and reviewed, The Kansas City Royals Foundation may schedule a call with the organization to ask follow-up questions relevant to the grant decision process.

In addition, The Kansas City Royals Foundation may schedule a follow-up site visit once funding has been awarded and the project is underway. Please note that if an application is not received by the deadline listed above, it will only be reviewed if funding is available after timely requests have been considered, and the organization may be asked to resubmit during the next grant cycle.

com with any questions. The Kansas City Royals Foundation requires that a final report be submitted within one year of the date of the original grant award. Once your organization's final report is received, your current grant file will be closed unless a follow-up site visit is necessary.
