Fredonia Area Community Foundation - Central Kansas Community Foundation The Fredonia Area Community Foundation became an affiliate of the Central Kansas Community Foundation in April 2012. Its mission is to strengthen the Fredonia area through charitable giving, starting with the creation of the Fredonia Area Community Impact Fund.
This fund will support local needs, programs, and services in Fredonia, Kansas, by providing annual grants from its endowment. Each year, the earnings generated by this endowment will be available to support qualifying charitable efforts in the community.
In addition, individuals, families, and businesses are invited to create named funds, contribute to estate plans, or give in memoriam or honorarium, all with the goal of enriching the Fredonia area for future generations. The vision of the Fredonia Area Community Foundation is to cultivate a thriving, vibrant community where residents can live, work, and play in an environment of opportunity, connection, and lasting hope.
The mission of the Fredonia Area Community Foundation is to enrich the quality of life in the Fredonia area by fostering community-driven charitable initiatives that create lasting impact and build a vibrant future for generations to come.

NCI Continuing Umbrella of Research Experiences (CURE) Academic Career Excellence (ACE) Award (K32) is a grant from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) that funds early postdoctoral fellows from diverse backgrounds, including underrepresented groups, to pursue research training in cancer-related fields. The K32 award supports fellows within 12 months prior to transitioning into, or within the first two years of, a postdoctoral position. The program, operated through NCI's Center to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities (CRCHD), aims to enhance the pool of qualified diverse cancer researchers. Beginning with the June 12, 2025 due date, the CURE ACE Award is available in both Independent Clinical Trial Required and Independent Clinical Trial Not Allowed versions. Eligible applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents at time of award.
