Microgrant Program Application Process - Karma for Cara FoundationKarma for Cara Foundation Microgrant Program Application Process Applications can be submitted at any time but are reviewed quarterly following these deadlines: January 1st , April 1st , July 1st , and October 1st . Application deadline is 11:59 EST on those dates. 01.
Students 18 years of age and under may apply for funds between $250 and $1,000 to complete service projects in their communities throughout the United States. If an applicant is over 18 years of age, the project is outside the US, and/or the microgrant amount requested exceeds $1,000, the application will not be considered for a microgrant. 02.
If applying on behalf of an entire class or student group, please designate a maximum of three student leaders to be the main points of contact for the project . We realize additional students may be involved, but having clear points of contact will make communication much easier. 03.
Include numbers. We want to know how many students will be involved in executing the project, how many people will benefit from the project, etc. In general, projects must include other youth, in addition to the youth lead. Please note that more isn’t necessarily better.
The numbers simply help us better understand the scope of the project. 04. While we understand the need for purchasing items to donate to others, microgrant projects should involve more than just purchasing items and donating them .
Are you transforming the items you purchase into something else that can be used in a variety of ways? Are you bringing students together to pack/organize/make something out of what you purchase? 05.
It is our intent that our grants fund the nuts & bolts of projects so we do not fund the following: Gift cards or event prize money. 06. Applicants will receive notification of next steps within two weeks of each deadline .
Applicants who apply after the deadline will be considered for the next rolling deadline. Please keep our grant cycle timeline in mind as you think about your project start/end date and as you anticipate a response.
After our grant cycle deadline, this is our grant cycle process timeline: Week 1: Review Applications Week 2 & 3: Schedule and conduct interviews Week 4 & 5: Finalists selected and notified Week 6: Microgrant funds disbursed Karma for Cara is committed to equal employment and volunteer opportunity without regard to ancestry, disability, national or ethnic origin, race, religious belief, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, political belief, or veteran status.
