What are your goals for your early childhood career? Previously Completed Professional Education When collecting your previous training, please keep in mind that the Council allows CDA candidates to use training obtained at any time in the past . However, there are clear guidelines for what types of training are considered acceptable ( GO Training ) and what are not ( NO Training ).

✅ GO Training (Acceptable Training Sources) Training may come from a single program or a combination of programs. Acceptable training sources must have expertise in early childhood teacher preparation.

These include: Two- and four-year colleges Private training organizations Vocational or technical schools Resource and referral agencies Early childhood education programs that sponsor training (e.g., Head Start , U.S. Military programs ) ❌ NO Training (Unacceptable Training Sources) The following training sources do not meet the Council's requirements: Training from directors or coordinators of programs that do not sponsor training Training obtained at conferences Training provided by individual consultants First Aid/CPR certification training ⏱ Training Hours & Conversions Training hours may be presented in different formats depending on the agency or organization.

The Council uses the following conversions to standardize training into clock hours : 1 Semester Credit = 15 clock hours 1 Quarter Credit = 10 clock hours 1 DHS Credit = 1 clock hour Record Your Previous Professional Education Download the Professional Development Tracking form below to record any qualifying training completed since your last CDA Credential was issued.

A KCCTO CDA Consultant will help you determine how many additional training hours you need and will provide you with a course selection document containing training opportunities that fulfill the Council's professional education requirements for your credential type.

Professional Development Tracking Document Requirements- Initial CDA Applicant: By clicking you attest to the following statements: I understand that courses are expected to be completed as scheduled; however, if I am unable to complete a course, a one-time free transfer is available.

I understand that if I am unable to complete a course through a transfer, it is my responsibility to self-enroll and pay for the course in order to complete my CDA Training Track. I understand that I may request to have my training track placed on hold due to extenuating circumstances, and that the maximum duration of such a hold is 60 days.

I understand that if I am unable to complete a course, it is my responsibility to forward the transfer email to my consultant so that my plan can be adjusted. I understand that all correspondence will be sent via email, and it is my responsibility to check for course-related and other CDA-related emails to ensure my successful completion of the training track.

I certify that all information given and attached to this form is, to the best of my knowledge, correct. I understand that enrollment in the KCCTO CDA Training Track is solely for the purpose of completing the required hours to obtain my CDA.
