At the Foundation, we draw strength and inspiration from our heroic hometown of Greensboro, North Carolina. It is a community with a rich history of organizing for a better future.

Yet it is also a community with many unmet needs. Today, Greensboro suffers from a poverty rate above 18%, considerably higher than the national average. Nearly one in five adults and one in three children live below the poverty line.

The Kontoor Brands Foundation wants to help meet the food, housing, education and workforce development needs of our neighbors. The promise of a better tomorrow depends upon our willingness to act in partnership today. The legacy we endeavor to build at Kontoor Brands Foundation is one that will lift generations.

Executive Vice President, Global Communications & Public Affairs; President, Kontoor Brands Foundation The Kontoor Brands Foundation (the “Foundation”) was established in 2020 to help improve food security, housing access, and educational opportunities for those most in need in our communities. The Foundation is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt, private foundation under section 501(c)(3).

As a global company with deep hometown roots, Kontoor Brands inaugurated the Foundation in 2023 with a focus on uplifting our community in Greensboro, North Carolina. We are proud that the Kontoor Brands Foundation has supported organizations throughout Guilford County, positively impacting more than 150,000 community members — 95% of whom live in underserved communities.

Our contributions have helped advance the missions of impactful partners such as Junior Achievement, the Kellin Foundation, Greensboro College, Guilford College, and Backpack Beginnings. The Foundation seeks lasting impact by partnering with experts and innovators in the areas we support. Our focus is on improving access and opportunities to those resources which we believe are essential to individual and collective well-being.

It is with this lens that we are committed to addressing those underrepresented and under-resourced people in the communities where we live and work. Our focus areas include: The Foundation enables individuals and families to live their lives with dignity. By furthering the development of initiatives which provide food and housing security, the Foundation supports the health and well-being of our neighbors.

The Foundation is dedicated to providing equitable access to lifelong education. By providing people with the means to realize their potential and give back to their communities, the Foundation endeavors to educate the leaders of today and tomorrow. While the Foundation’s work will begin close to our headquarters in Greensboro, North Carolina, the long-term objectives are to engage with communities globally, focusing on food security and nutrition, ensuring safe and secure homes, and providing resources for lifelong education opportunities. Now, more than ever, we need care and grace in the world. We need to care for one another.

That’s the guiding spirit that will drive the Kontoor Brands Foundation. The Foundation’s 2026 grant application period is now closed. We appreciate the interest and participation of all organizations that submitted proposals during this year’s funding cycle.

Our team is currently reviewing applications and evaluating potential grant recipients. Selected organizations will be notified directly, and grant awardees will be publicly announced later this year.
