Korea/Asia Grant Program 2026 is sponsored by Korea Foundation and Scowcroft Institute at Texas A&M University. This program offers research grants on East Asia, including Korea. Research must include, but not be limited to, holdings of the George Bush Presidential Library.

The grants help defray living, travel, and related expenses incurred while conducting research at the library.

Research must include, but not be limited to, holdings of the George Bush Presidential Library. The grant program, formerly administered by the George Bush Presidential Library Foundation, is made possible through the support of the Korea Foundation. Funds are awarded for the sole purpose of helping to defray living, travel, and related expenses incurred while conducting research at the George Bush Presidential Library.

Deadline : The application deadline is Monday, November 2, 2026 11:59 p. m. Awards will be announced by January 2027.

Awards : The program awards grants ranging from $500 to $2,500. The funds will be issued as a reimbursement (an invoice and receipts are required) once you have visited the Bush Library and upon receipt of your end-of-grant report. This report will summarize your experience at the Bush Library including what you researched and how it will benefit your research.

Please note: Applicants located outside of the U.S. have a different process for the disbursement of funds. Award Period: January 2027 – July 2028 Eligibility: Researchers and scholars interested in conducting relevant research at the George Bush Presidential Library.

Includes, but is not limited to tenured, non-tenured, tenure-track, Pre-Doc, and Post-Doc researchers and scholars interested in the era of the 41 st U.S.A president, George H. W. Bush (1989-1993).

This can include national or international research . Prospective researchers are strongly encouraged to write, call or email the Bush Library staff in advance of submitting an application to determine whether the library contains material relevant to their research topic. (Contact: library.

bush@nara. gov or (979) 691-4041) Review : Applications will be reviewed by a panel of scholars and administrators from the Bush School, other colleges/schools on campus, and the George Bush Presidential Library archival staff.

Selection Criteria : Funding priority will be given to proposals that a) have the greatest likelihood of publication and subsequent usefulness to educators, scholars, students, and policymakers, and b) bring newly available research materials to light.

Publications Receiving Support Must Acknowledge: “The Scowcroft Institute of International Affairs at the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University and the George Bush Presidential Library Archives. ” Reporting Requirements: Upon completion of the project, grantees are required to submit a brief report on their research to the Scowcroft Institute and a copy of any publications resulting from their research.

The publications will be placed in the George Bush Presidential Library. Location : The George Bush Presidential Library and Museum is located on the campus of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. Easterwood Airport in College Station is served by American Airlines and is a two-hour drive northwest of Houston and a three-hour drive south of Dallas-Fort Worth.

The institute is named in honor of LTG (r) Brent Scowcroft, whose long and distinguished career in public service included serving as National Security Advisor for Presidents Gerald Ford and George H. W. Bush.

The Institute’s core mission is to foster and disseminate policy-oriented research on international affairs by supporting faculty and student research, hosting international speakers and major scholarly conferences, and providing grants to outside researchers to use the holdings of the Bush Library.
