The Kramer Barnard Memorial Fund was established to honor the life of 12-year-old Kramer Barnard by his parents, John and Beth Barnard, and family friends.

Kramer passed in a tragic ATV accident on Friday, April 18, 2025. Kramer’s family and friends established the Kramer Barnard Memorial Grant Cycle to support youth development and leadership, with an emphasis on sports and outdoor activities, and to assist area youth who have a financial need to participate in these programs.

The funds distributed from this grant cycle are from gifts made in memory of Kramer to honor his love for sports and the outdoors. This grant cycle is open to nonprofit organizations having a program which meets the following requirements: Organization with a Youth focus located in Archer, Clay or Wichita County. Program which promotes youth development/leadership, or has an emphasis on sports or outdoor recreation activities.

Financial need for youth participation, or for program equipment/supplies. Grant applications must be submitted through the Nonprofit Portal. The application will not show up on the Portal until the grant cycle opens.

There are two cycles a year as funds are available. Applications are accepted: November 1 – November 30 and March 1 – March 31 If your organization has never applied for a grant through the Community Foundation, you will need to create an account in the grant portal when applying for a grant the first time. Review the Grant Application Tutorial for guidance and select “New Dashboard.

” Your organization must be a valid, current 501(c)3 nonprofit organization to apply. Your organization must have an office located within Archer, Clay, or Wichita County. Awards will be made via ACH Direct Deposit.
