Legacy Fund Grants

Legacy Fund Grants is sponsored by Community Foundation of North Central Washington (CFNCW). Supports nonprofit organizations across Chelan, Douglas, and Okanogan counties through a community-led approach to local giving.

Legacy Funds Grant Program - Community Foundation of North Central Washington The Legacy Funds Grant program focuses on place-based, community-centered grant distribution to charitable organizations, meeting community needs throughout North Central Washington. This is a competitive grant and the main source of grant funding from the Foundation for nonprofits throughout NCW.

Legacy Fund Grants will provide unrestricted funding to nonprofits by geographic region in Cashmere, Chelan Valley, Methow Valley, Okanogan Valley, Upper Valley, and Wenatchee Valley. These funds have been established by donations from local individuals and families who wanted to create a meaningful legacy to their community.

Local Advisory Boards (LABs) have been established for each Legacy Fund comprised of community volunteers from within each community. Along with a Community Foundation Trustee and staff, LAB volunteers will review, evaluate, and determine grant award recipients .

Each organization that applies will participate in a Site Visit with LAB members (approx 30-45min) to better understand the organization's mission, structure, leadership, and impact in their community. LAB members have received training on the Foundation's grant guidelines, policies, and how to evaluate grant applications.

The Foundation is excited to include local community members in the grantmaking process as they know the needs of their communities.

Organizations which serve multiple communities only need to complete one application. If you are a government agency, tribal agency, faith-based organization, fiscally sponsored program, or a 501(c)(3) public charity serving the Methow Valley but headquartered elsewhere, you are eligible for program-specific support that meets our Grant Guidelines and Policies. Since the beginning of my freshman year I have been involved with clubs such as Stanford’s Space Initiative (SSI) and the Society of Latinx Engineers (SOLE). In SSI I built a rocket and launched it. Aero Methow Rescue Service Chelan Douglas Volunteer Attorney Services The grant provided funds to hire a Housing Justice and Outreach Coordinator to visit rural and underserved areas.

Rosie’s bilingual and bicultural skills and experience have increased equity of service. Rosie is building partnerships with local organizations through events such as the Columbia Valley Community Health’s Back to School Drive, as well as posting yard signs. My father was a migrant agricultural worker who eventually started his own cherry and apple orchard.

He told me if I wanted to live a better life, I had to get an education. I plan on starting a career with the Chelan PUD with a passion for renewable energy and in turn give back to my parents and community for supporting my dreams. GRANTS & SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED
