Leslye Orr Fund for Artists with Disabilities - Springboard For The Arts Leslye Orr Fund for Artists with Disabilities Inspired by Leslye Orr’s advocacy for “the possibilities of disabilities,” this fund fosters artistry, inclusivity, and community joy. The Leslye Orr Fund provides non-competitive direct support for artists with disabilities in Minnesota to create work and invest in their careers.
Inspired by Leslye Orr’s advocacy for “the possibilities of disabilities,” this fund fosters artistry, inclusivity, and community joy. Grants are $2,000 each, and will be awarded to five artists per funding cycle, selected through a randomized drawing of eligible applicants. The Leslye Orr Memorial Fund for Artists with Disabilities is managed by Springboard for the Arts and sustained by community support.

Frequently Asked Questions Grants are $2,000 each, and will be awarded to five artists per funding cycle, selected through a randomized drawing of eligible applicants.
The 2026 selection is closed, however the 2027 selection is open. Recipients are notified by: April 30, 2027 Eligibility (must meet all criteria): Self-identify as an artist (any discipline) with a disability* Have an opportunity that can be met with a one-time $2,000 grant.
* Disability is broadly defined and may include cognitive, intellectual, developmental, mobility, visual, hearing, mental health, immunocompromised, members of the Deaf community, artists living with HIV, or others who meet the ADA definition of disability.
an artist based outside Minnesota a current Springboard Rural Regenerator Fellow a Springboard employee, board member, or immediate family member of either Besides filling out the form below, applicants may also apply using the following methods: Uploading or emailing a short video (2-4 minutes) responding to application questions Receiving assistance from another person (in-person, virtually or by phone) to take dictation or complete the application on the applicant’s behalf, including Springboard for the Arts staff.

If your application is drawn, you may choose to receive the full amount in a lump sum or over a period of months.
You may also designate a legal guardian or representative to receive the funds on your behalf. We will work out payment details with each selected artist individually. The application asks the following questions: Do you currently live in Minnesota full-time?
