Letter of Inquiry (LOI) for First-Time Applicants is sponsored by The Kelvin and Eleanor Smith Foundation. The Kelvin and Eleanor Smith Foundation is a private family foundation that makes grants to non-profit, charitable organizations in Cleveland. New applicants must first contact the foundation to provide a brief overview of their organization before submitting a Letter of Inquiry.

Be prepared to provide a brief overview of your organization (the history, mission, programs, and services). This will enable us to determine whether an LOI would fall within the Foundation’s areas of interest. 2 Once invited to apply: Click Here Select the “Create New Account” option on the Logon Page.

Enter the required information, your email address, and a password. Make note of the email and password you choose, as it will enable you to access the system for future grant applications. Click on the “Grant Cycle – LOI” link.

When you have completed the LOI, click “Submit”, and you will receive an email confirmation of your submission. While completing the online application, you may save it and return to it as often as needed. After your LOI has been submitted, it will be reviewed to determine if a full proposal will be requested for the next grant cycle.

The Full Application form can only be accessed through our online portal AFTER approval of the LOI and assignment of an access code.
