Travel Grant Application | Science History Institute Museum Hours: Wednesday–Saturday, 10am–5pm The Othmer Library offers travel grants for periods of up to two weeks for research and scholarly exploration of our primary materials, which include rare and modern books, manuscripts, archival collections, oral histories, fine art, artifacts, and instruments.
Travel grants are $1,250 per week and are intended to help defray the costs of travel and accommodation. Applicants must live more than 75 miles (120 km) from Philadelphia to be eligible. Applications and research visits are accepted and approved on a rolling basis.

Notice 20260916-RZ funds teams of humanities scholars at up to $250,000 over three years, with a separate $50,000 planning track for international collaborations. The 2026 competition accepts only projects on the history and culture of the United States or Western civilization. At roughly 134 applications for 14 to 15 awards, the eligibility screen matters more than the writing.
