Respite Voucher Program - TN Caregiver The Family Directed Respite Voucher program helps defray some of the cost of respite to family caregivers. It encourages families to be in control of and empowered to use respite as it meets their needs. Click Here for Information About the Program We help caregivers across the entire state of Tennessee.
A caregiver must live in the same home as the person they care for. Applications are open April 1 – June 30 each year. What does the program do?
We give money back (reimbursement) for respite care. Respite means someone else cares for your loved one so you can take a break. Up to $600 per year per household.
What can the money be used for? You can use it to pay for: After-school activities or tutoring What can it NOT be used for?
Anything for the caregiver (like cleaning, food, or vacations) The caregiver must get a break while someone else is providing care You pay for the service first Then we pay you back (reimburse you) Payments are sent by direct deposit the next month We can also pay places (like camps or day programs) directly if you give us an invoice. They cannot live in your home What do I need to enroll?
Proof of diagnosis (dated within the last 3 years) There are no income limits You can still apply even if you use other programs Must submit a new application each year Contact our Respite Program Coordinator, Tim Marsh, at respite@tncaregiver. org The Tennessee Caregiver Coalition accepts applications for the Respite Voucher Program from April 1st through June 30th. Must submit a new application each year.
