Local Aging & Disability Action Planning (LADAP) Grant Program is sponsored by California Department of Aging (CDA). This grant program provides funding to communities across California to plan and develop cross-sector local age- and disability-friendly plans.

Local Aging & Disability Action Planning (LADAP) Grant Program - California Grants Portal The grant purpose is to provide funding to communities across the state to plan and develop their own, cross-sector local age- and disability-friendly plans. Under the grant program, CDA will support local communities in planning and creating their own age and disability-friendly action plans.

The local plans developed under this grant program aim to improve a community’s livability and address the current, emerging, and future needs of California’s older adults, people with disabilities, caregivers, and families through cross-sector collaboration and transformational systems change.

The purpose is to provide funding to communities across the state to plan and develop their own, cross-sector local age- and disability-friendly plans that: 1) transform the infrastructure and coordination of services and supports for older adults, people with disabilities, caregivers, and families; 2) Elevate the strengths and voices of community members who are aging and/or living with a disability; 3) Expand culturally relevant and accessible services and opportunities to older adults, people with disabilities, caregivers, and families; 4) Address health and other inequities that can become cumulative with age; and 5) Combat racism, ageism, ableism, and biases in aging and disability systems of care.

The grant program goals align with California’s Master Plan for Aging (MPA). Keywords: aging; disability; community, older adults, plan, equity California-based agencies and organizations that represent and serve a defined community. Under the RFA, community is defined as a city, a group of cities, a county, a group of counties, or Tribal land(s).

Applicants may submit proposals as a single organization or on behalf of a consortium of organizations. Applicant may be community-based non-profits and established coalitions that are classified as 501(c)(3) tax exempt under the IRS Code.

-LGBTQ+ persons/communities/populations -Professional & family caregivers -Persons/communities/populations of lower incomes -Persons/communities/populations of immigrant and/or refugee status The date (and time, where applicable) by which all applications must be submitted to the grantmaker. Time listed as “00:00” equates to midnight.

Expected award announcement The date on which the grantor expects to announce the recipient(s) of the grant. The length of time during which the grant money must be utilized. Total estimated available funding The total projected dollar amount of the grant.

Expected number of awards A single grant opportunity may represent one or many awards. Some grantors may know in advance the exact number of awards to be given. Others may indicate a range.

It may be either State or Federal (or a combination of both), and be tied to a specific piece of legislation, a proposition, or a bond number. The Budget Act of 2022 allocated $4. 5 million one-time General Fund dollars over three years (fiscal years 2022-25) to CDA to support this grant program The manner in which the grant funding will be delivered to the awardee.

Funding methods include reimbursements (where the recipient spends out-of-pocket and is reimbursed by the grantor) and advances (where the recipient spends received grant funds directly).
