Request for Qualifications #2026-03: CLOSED First 5 Solano Calendar Design and Production The First 5 Solano Children and Families Commission (First 5 Solano) funds an array of programs in Solano County for pregnant women, children ages 0-5, and their parents/caregivers.

First 5 Solano funds are an integral part of the safety net for children’s and family programs and our agency works closely with community partners to continue to find ways to ensure these critical community investments. First 5 Solano is seeking to build a pool of highly qualified vendors who can design and produce print ready versions of a 12-month calendar, annually over a 3-year period.

Funding is available through this RFQ in the amount of up to $8,000 annually for three years (FY2026/27 through FY2028/29). Individual vendors for-profit organizations, and non-profit organizations are eligible to submit proposals. RFQ #2026-03 Proposal Submission and must be received by 5:00 PM PST on July 29th, 2026.

First 5 Solano is seeking to build a pool of highly qualified vendors who can provide printing and distribution services for four 12-month calendars annually over a 3-year period.

The total amount of funding available is $123,000 (up to $41,000 annually) through this RFQ for three years (FY2026/27 through FY2028/29). Request for Qualifications #2026-04: First 5 Solano Calendar Printing and Distribution 2026-04 Calendar Printing and Distribution RFQ Attachment A - Proposal Form Intent to Award Letter FINAL First 5 Solano Community Responsive Mini Grants: CLOSED About First 5 Solano Mini Grants First 5 Solano has developed a flexible funding opportunity to support events and activities that benefit children ages 0-5 and their families.

Organizations in Solano County can apply for Mini Grants ranging from $500 to $5,000 , based on their needs and proposed ideas. Mini Grants are released twice a year, with application periods occurring in the spring and fall.

First Application Period: CLOSED For activities occurring July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027 Applications were closed in April 2026 Second Application Period: For activities occurring January 1, 2027 – June 30, 2027 Will be announced in Fall 2026 Community Engagement Events Up to $500 for one-time event or activity that connects with parents, caregivers and/or providers that increase awareness about a topic or resource available in the community.

Examples: Community baby shower or community event for children ages 0-5. Professional Development Opportunity : Up to $3,000 per event for hosting or attending a conference or training that strengthen the skills of Solano County Providers who are serving children ages 0-5. Opportunities may be one-time (such as a one-day training) or over a time-period (such as a weekly training over 6 weeks).

Examples: Lactation Education Certification training or Trauma Informed Care conference. Material and Equipment Purchase : Up to $5,000 to purchase equipment or materials that provide assistance for specific activities or services for children ages 0-5 and their families.

Materials or equipment may be used for purposes including, but not limited to education, keeping children and families safe, make space appropriate for young children, etc. Examples: Purchase of new curriculum or purchase of furniture to create age-appropriate space in an office.

Please note : First 5 Solano follows best practices on limiting on the use of digital devices for young children and will not approve requests for screen-based learning, including tablets or computers. Up to $5,000 for programs with a set timeline and clear goals Must be time-limited in nature and need to establish how many children, families or providers will be served, and what the intended outcome will be.

Examples: A 6-week art class for children and grandparents focusing on Latino culture or a 10-week parent leadership training. Mini Grant Application and Supporting Documents First 5 Solano FY 2026–27 Annual Grants Program: CLOSED Request for Applications (RFA# 2026-01) The First 5 Solano Children and Families Commission (First 5 Solano) is pleased to announce its Request for Application (RFA #2026-01) for its Annual Grants Program.

The Annual Grants Fund is designed to support one-time projects that address the needs of children ages 0–5, their parents or caregivers, and/or service providers serving children ages 0–5 in Solano County. Multiple grants of up to $20,000 each will be awarded for up to a one-year period from July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027.

A mandatory letter of intent is due February 17, 2026 and applicants must also attend a mandatory grant development session. The complete application is due March 16, 2026, 5:00 pm. For instructions for submitting Letter of Intent and Application please see RFA attachments below.
