FOUNDATION Therapeutics is a branch of medicine that deals with the treatment and prevention of diseases and injuries. This can include medical devices, medications, nutritional therapy, and treatments like stem-cell therapies. Personalized medicine, also called precision medicine, consists of customized therapies that are tailored to an individual’s unique medical profile.
Personalized medicine practitioners look at characteristics like genetic markers to determine effective treatments and prevention for patients in areas including cancer treatment, heart disease risk, nutrition, and drug development. Artificial Intelligence (AI) uses computer science and data to build machines that mimic human thought processes. The goal of AI is to improve machines’ abilities to learn and make rational decisions.
AI applications will revolutionize medicine, from improved diagnosis timelines to faster drug discovery and more. Predictive diagnostics use large amounts of data to better determine patient outcomes.
