The NSF National AI Research Institutes program (NSF 23-610) funds large multi-institution centers comprised of scientists, engineers, and educators united by a common focus on advancing the research frontiers in AI. Each AI Institute receives up to $20 million over 5 years to pursue transformational advances in a range of economic sectors and scientific fields, with the program seeking to build a broader nationwide network of AI research excellence.
