– The Louisiana Equine Promotion and Research Advisory Board is now accepting grant applications for the purpose of supporting the growth and development of the Louisiana equine industry by enhancing research, education, promotion, facilities, tourism, events, and equine-related activities throughout the state for the 2026-2027 cycle.
Funding for this round of grants was dedicated as part of Act 582 of the 2024 Regular Legislative Session. The Board is offering one-time grants based on available funds. Applicants should apply early, as grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Board will consider applications at its meetings. “The Louisiana equine industry continues to thrive thanks to the dedicated efforts of the Louisiana Equine Promotion and Research Advisory Board,” said LDAF Commissioner Mike Strain, DVM. “The board’s support has helped drive significant economic growth in the industry—from $6.
2 million in economic impact for 2023-2024 to $10. 7 million for 2024-2025, according to the Louisiana Office of Tourism. This progress underscores the value of investing in Louisiana’s equine community, and we look forward to building on this momentum.
