Low Carbon Product Manufacturing Grant is sponsored by NSW Government. Supports businesses in establishing or expanding facilities in NSW to manufacture low carbon building materials, chemicals, biofuels, power fuels, or agricultural inputs.

We’re working with industry to build local manufacturing capacity and capability to deliver critical components for NSW’s emerging renewable energy sector and new low carbon products. Together we can turbo-charge the renewable manufacturing sector that will help NSW reach net zero by 2050.

We are providing funding to eligible businesses with projects that will manufacture low carbon building materials, chemicals, biofuels, power fuels, or inputs for agricultural production at a commercial scale.

The objectives of this grant are to: drive economic growth across NSW increase investment and employment in new low carbon industries support a diverse, self-sufficient, resilient and competitive low carbon manufacturing sector establish new industrial facilities and advanced manufacturing capabilities to help decarbonise NSW’s economy.

You can apply for between $5 million and $30 million funding per project for up to 50% of eligible project costs. This is a single stage application process. You must submit your application using our grant management system (GMS).

This grant is part of the Net Zero Manufacturing Initiative , to help fast-track emissions reductions and build the technologies that we need to further our renewable transition. Types of projects we will fund We’re looking to fund projects that will manufacture eligible low carbon products at a commercial scale.

Types of eligible low carbon products include but are not limited to: biofuels derived from biomass, including biodiesel and sustainable aviation fuel power fuels produced with renewable energy inputs needed for agricultural production. For more information on the types of projects eligible for funding, refer to the funding guidelines under the ‘How to apply’ section below.

We encourage applicants with projects based in the Hunter and Illawarra regions to apply as these are areas of strategic interest for the NSW Government.
