Luz Alliance Fund

Luz Alliance Fund is a grant from BrazilFoundation that supports civil society organizations working to preserve and rehabilitate Brazilian ecosystems in alignment with the UN Decade of Ecosystem Restoration goals.

The fund focuses on protecting all of Brazil's major biomes — Amazônia, Caatinga, Cerrado, Mata Atlântica, Pampa, Pantanal, and Coastal Marine regions — by funding biodiversity conservation and natural ecosystem restoration projects. Eligible applicants are civil society organizations and nonprofits engaged in environmental protection and ecosystem rehabilitation work in Brazil.

BrazilFoundation partners with selected organizations representing each biome to ensure broad geographic and ecological coverage.

Luz Alliance Fund | BrazilFoundation Luz Alliance Fund of BrazilFoundation Support for social-environmental initiatives to help rehabilitate Brazilian biomes In line with the UN Decade of Ecosystem Restoration goals, the Luz Alliance Fund’s focus in 2022 is to support civil society organizations working to preserve and rehabilitate ecosystems for the good of both people and nature.

Brazil is the most biodiverse place on the planet, with each of its biomes hosting a variety of vegetation and fauna. The organizations chosen in partnership with BrazilFoundation represent each of Brazil’s biomes: Amazônia, Caatinga, Cerrado, Mata Atlântica, Pampa and Pantanal, as well as the Coastal Marine regions.

The projects aim to support biodiversity conservation and to protect natural ecosystems, species and water sources, promoting more sustainable livelihoods. Support Luz Alliance Fund Protection and regeneration of the environment Preservation of Brazilian biomes The Luz Alliance Fund, an initiative of Gisele Bündchen, was created in 2020 in partnership with Brazil Foundation to provide humanitarian pandemic relief to families in Brazil.

As of 2021, the fund also supports environmental conservation and rehabilitation projects. Brazil Foundation will perform all due diligence and be responsible for identifying and recommending the projects and institutions that match the desired profile to receive funds. Created in 2007 by model and philanthropist Gisele Bündchen, the Luz Foundation is a private foundation which aims to support humanitarian, educational and environmental causes. Brazil Foundation retains exclusive legal responsibility for all donations.
