Major Home Repairs Program Major Home Repairs Program Our Major Home Repair is funded through the Washington State Department of Commerce Home Rehabilitation Grant Program (HRGP) Weatherization Division.
We strive to empower families to live in homes that promote well-being, sustainability and dignity. The goal of this program is to actively reduce health and safety risks by bringing living environments up to standard ensuring long-term sustainability.
To be eligible for this program you must meet the following criteria: Dwelling is a single-family residential structure Dwelling is owned and occupied by applicant Dwelling is located in an eligible Rural area Household must be 80% or below the area Median income for Yakima County - Persons with Disabilities - Households with children under the age of 5 Home rehabilitation through HRGP is defined as residential repairs and improvements that address health, safety, and durability issues in existing housing in rural communities.
Examples of eligible repairs include: Essential improvements to ensure occupant health Energy-related improvements Lead-based paint and asbestos testing, hazard remediation, removal, or abatement, which may include: Improvements for handicapped persons per state and federal requirements.
