Major Instrumentation Initiatives # Major Instrumentation Initiatives ## Current Major Instrument Initiatives of the DFG 2026, Electron Diffractometers for Structural Elucidation The Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) launches a Major Instrumentation Initiative that invites proposals for the provision of electron diffractometers (EDs) for structural elucidation at German universities to explore the scientific potential of this technology in research.

2024, Clinical Hyperpolarisers for Advanced Metabolic Magnetic Resonance Imaging With this call, the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) launched a new Major Instrumentation Initiative that invited proposals for the provision of Clinical Hyperpolarisers for metabolic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) at German universities in order to explore the scientific potential of this technology in medical imaging research.

2023, HALO-Instruments – the Expansion of the Scientific Instrumentation of the High Altitude and Long Range Research Aircraft HALO This DFG initiative pushes the limits of the scientific instrumentation of the Research Aircraft HALO to allow addressing an even wider range of parameters to be observed during the flight missions.
