National Institute of Corrections (NIC) Workforce Development and Correctional Industries Training Programs is sponsored by National Institute of Corrections (NIC). Evidence-Based Blended Workforce Development Training is sponsored by National Institute of Corrections (NIC). This program provides funding to train criminal justice practitioners with the knowledge and skills needed to facilitate the 40-hour Evidence-Based Blended Workforce Development Training and administer the Employment Retention Inventory. The training helps practitioners assist justice-involved adults in exploring positive lifestyle choices and gaining attachment to the workforce, and identifies criminogenic risks affecting recidivism and job loss.

NIC FY 2025 Enhancing Criminal Justice Coordinating Councils is a grant from the DOJ National Institute of Corrections that provides technical assistance and coaching to criminal justice coordinating councils (CJCCs) seeking to improve local justice system collaboration and outcomes. The program supports councils in strengthening cross-agency coordination among law enforcement, courts, corrections, and community stakeholders. This opportunity incorporates updated 2 CFR Part 200 compliance requirements, including a revised de minimis indirect cost rate of 15 percent, an equipment threshold of ,000, and a subaward threshold of ,000. Jurisdictions operating or developing CJCCs that need structured guidance to enhance planning, data sharing, and coordinated decision-making across the criminal justice continuum are the primary intended recipients.

National Sheriffs' Institute (NSI) is sponsored by National Institute of Corrections (NIC). The NSI is a national leadership program for first-term sheriffs, introducing them to their leadership role within their organization, the local criminal justice system, and the community. Although highly specific to law enforcement, the underlying principles of leadership development for new leaders, understanding organizational roles, and community engagement could offer transferable insights for leadership development in a college setting, especially for programs focused on civic leadership or public service.
