MarinHealth Community Benefit Grant Program is sponsored by MarinHealth Medical Center. This program provides grants to local nonprofit and public health and human service organizations serving Marin County residents.

Grant Program at MarinHealth | Hospital in Greenbrae About Us Community Benefit Grant Program 2027 Community Benefit Grant Program MarinHealth wishes to partner with, and support community organizations and health agencies committed to building innovative strategies that serve the needs of Marin County residents through our Community Benefit Grant Program.

In 2025, MarinHealth Medical Center conducted a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) to assess the significant health needs in Marin County. The CHNA guides the hospital’s community health improvement programs and community benefit activities, as well as its collaborative efforts with organizations that share a mission to improve health.

Based on the data and community input collected in our CHNA, MarinHealth Medical Center chose to fund programs that address: Access to quality healthcare is important to overall health, disease prevention, and reducing unnecessary disability and premature death. We will focus on the availability of primary care, dental care and specialty care services.

We will also focus on addressing circumstances and conditions that affect health care access such as health literacy, transportation and health Chronic Disease and Disability Healthy lifestyle choices can affect the rates of chronic conditions such as cardiovascular disease, stroke, diabetes and cancer. Disabilities are impairments that limit a person's ability to participate in everyday activities.

We will focus on access to healthy food options, increases in food security, adequate information and knowledge to make healthy lifestyle choices, increases in physical activity and improved fitness, access to preventive care, and chronic disease and disability prevention, management and treatment.

The high cost of living in Marin County and the lack of affordable housing contribute to increased housing instability and a growing population of people experiencing homelessness. Adequate, safe housing is a social determinant of health, which impacts the health and well-being of our community residents. Conversely, inadequate housing or a lack of housing has a negative impact on health outcomes.

We will focus on sustaining and enhancing a continuum of care and offering supportive services that assist individuals and families to prevent homelessness and/or to move forward out of homelessness. Mental Health and Substance Use Marin County residents have increasing mental health and substance use concerns.

We will focus on initiatives and programs that support access to mental health and substance use services and increase community awareness of prevention efforts and the availability of resources to address mental health and substance use issues. Community Benefit Grant Program Eligibility Established nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations and public agencies that serve Marin County residents are eligible for MarinHealth grant funds.

MarinHealth prioritizes grant requests for programs that: Address our prioritized health needs. Improve access to health care and supportive services. Serve underserved, vulnerable populations.

Reduce health disparities or improve the quality of life for people living Measure outcomes through evaluation methods and have a track record of Grants are generally NOT awarded to/for: Athletic programs, such as sports teams or leagues Building or capital campaigns Religious organizations (religious purposes or for exclusive benefit of The 2027 Community Benefit Grant Program application period is now open and will run through 5 pm, August 28, 2026.
