Philanthropy | XTX Markets XTX does not deal with individual investors and does not accept deposits or provide retail trading services In 2023, XTX Markets published Maths Excellence Pathways , a report that outlined our initial plans to advance UK maths education.
Following this, we are launching a growing number of major projects, including the Maths Excellence Fund, the Martingale Foundation, the Observatory for Mathematical Education and the Campaign for Mathematical Sciences. We support several global talent initiatives, including principal sponsorship of the International Mathematical Olympiad in the UK in 2024 and in Australia in 2025.
We are also founding donors of the Global Talent Fund, including the BIG Program, which provides scholarships for medallists in maths and science olympiads to study at world-class universities. We also fund mathematical sciences research, including PhDs and postdocs in pure maths.
As well as committing over £22m to the Martingale Foundation as its founding donor, in 2025 we donated £26m in multi-year funding for PhDs and postdocs at seven top UK universities. Beyond this, we are innovating in the field of AI for maths, including creating the $10m AI Mathematical Olympiad Prize, and launching the $34m AI for Math Fund to accelerate the development of AI tools and infrastructure for mathematicians.
XTX Markets’ philanthropy took off in March 2020, when the firm gave more than £20m to public health charities globally within days of the first Covid lockdown. Since then, the firm has continued to make donations in times of crisis, including £38m in support for Ukraine, with a particular focus on education through our £15m Academic Sanctuaries Fund and our £7. 5m Ukraine Global Excellence Fund.
We also commit a proportion of our giving to charities that we believe will maximise impact per pound. Partnering with Founders Pledge, a charity that undertakes extensive research and due diligence to identify the highest impact grants, we have granted £113m to 32 charities, with a particular focus on global development and education. XTX Markets has a corporate social responsibility budget to support individual and team giving.
The firm matches any employee donations on a 1:1 basis, so for every £1 donated, we donate another £1. Each of our global teams is supported to partner with charities in their local community, where the firm makes a donation and employees may engage through events, fundraising or volunteering. XTX Markets mitigates its carbon emissions through high-quality CO2 removals and makes wider investments to accelerate net zero technologies.
The firm has purchased 17,275 tonnes of CO2 removal, and funded wider work to restore degraded peatlands which reduces carbon emissions.

Comcast NBCUniversal named its 2026 Local Impact grantees on September 23. The unrestricted money is real, but a 30 percent expense cap and a zip-code gate filter more applicants than the merit review does.
Read articleA 10-year, $300 million commitment has now put more than $119 million into 240-plus organizations across 28 markets. But the round-by-round math shows a foundation deliberately widening its base and shrinking its checks. Here is how to size a request for the October 1-31, 2026 window, and the eligibility gates that disqualify most applicants before review.
