What is Maryland Education & Training Voucher (ETV)? The Education and Training Voucher (ETV) Program provides foster youth up to $5,000 a year ($5,000 for full-time students and up to $2,500 for part-time students) for college and vocational training based on financial need.
Eligible recipients have a maximum of five years to receive benefits (or until their 26th birthday once enrolled in a post-secondary education program before their 21st birthday). Funding is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis to eligible students who show a need. Who will provide me with ETV?
ETV is administered in Maryland by Foster Success Education Services who provides various services for students such as academic guidance, mentoring, budgeting, and monthly support meetings. To apply, you must complete an application for ETV by clicking here . ETV applicants must also complete FAFSA and the financial aid release form with their respective colleges.
Can I lose funding with ETV? Yes. Funding is dependent on the student making satisfactory progress towards completion of their program and providing documentation needed for the program.
Students must be accepted or enrolled in a degree, certificate, or other accredited program at a college, university, technical, or vocational school. What happens if an ETV student withdraws from classes or drops out of school? ETV awards are based on school attendance and the number of credits students are taking.
If they withdraw from any classes, they MUST inform ETV immediately as their funds may need to be adjusted. What can I spend ETV funds on? Tuition and school fees (at a private institution or training program) Room and board for on campus or off-campus housing Do I have to pay back the funds?
I am interested in attending a college or training program in another state, can I use ETV? Why does Foster Success Education Services need my official transcripts? To be eligible for ETV funding, students must show proof that they are advancing towards their educational degrees or certification.
Therefore, ETV requires an official transcript for each term a student is funded. ETV funding will NOT be disbursed until the student’s transcript has been received . Where can I find more information on ETV?
