Massachusetts Cybersecurity Mentorship Program is sponsored by MassTech Collaborative. Provides mentorship opportunities for diverse Massachusetts undergraduate students in cybersecurity careers.

Cyber Mentorship - Student Application | MassCyberCenter I am a Massachusetts resident attending a Massachusetts college or university I am not a Massachusetts resident, but I am currently attending a Massachusetts college or university (Note: Non-Massachusetts residents are eligible to participate as long as they are currently attending a Massachusetts college or university) Describe the option that best describes the program in which you are currently enrolled: (Note: Graduate students are not eligible to participate.)

Will you be using your participation in this program to obtain academic credit? The goal of this Mentorship Program is to encourage diverse college students to continue to pursue a career in cybersecurity and to promote the diversity of the cybersecurity workforce in Massachusetts. The following two questions are optional and help us make sure that our participants align with our mission.

Please describe any educational/professional/extra-curricular experiences you have had related to cybersecurity. To ensure a good match with a mentor, please select the areas of cybersecurity you are interested in: Analyze (Performs highly-specialized review and evaluation of incoming cybersecurity information to determine its usefulness for intelligence.)

Collect and Operate (Provides specialized denial and deception operations and collection of cybersecurity information that may be used to develop intelligence.) Investigate (Investigates cybersecurity events or crimes related to information technology (IT) systems, networks and digital evidence.)

Operate and Maintain (Provides the support, administration and maintenance necessary to ensure effective and efficient information technology system performance and security.) Oversee and Govern (Provides leadership, management, direction or development and advocacy so that the organization may effectively conduct cybersecurity work.)

Protect and Defend (Identifies, analyzes and mitigates threats to internal information technology systems and/or networks.) Securely Provision (Conceptualizes, designs, procures and/or builds secure information technology systems, with the responsibility for aspects of system and/or network development.) Please select all types of projects you would be interested in working on with a mentor: Build, break, secure, and administer a virtual machine (i.e. a Raspberry Pi or other) Identify the challenges around a cybersecurity policy or procedure for a business (i.e. the requirement that employees change their password every 90 days) and write a report on your assessments Create or evaluate a Cyber Incident Response Plan Draft a memo providing a policy recommendation for the state of Massachusetts Develop a product for Cybersecurity Awareness Training Develop a scenario for the MassCyberCenter's CyberSecure Deckscenario for the MassCyberCenter's CyberSecure Deck ?

Other - I would like to develop a custom project with my mentor based on mutual cybersecurity interests Note: those selected to participate in the program will be provided additional details about each option.
