The Massachusetts Manufacturing Innovation Initiative (M2I2), administered by the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative's Center for Advanced Manufacturing, provides state grant funding to help Massachusetts innovators move hardtech products (Technology Readiness Levels 4-6) into pilot-scale manufacturing. Eligible sectors explicitly include robotics, electronics, bioindustrial manufacturing, and additive manufacturing, supporting AI-enabled and automated production. Awards require a 1:1 non-state cost match and a community benefit component. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed at least quarterly.
The Massachusetts Manufacturing Innovation Initiative (M2I2) provides state grant funding to help Massachusetts innovators advance hardtech products to manufacturing stage. M2I2 supports sectors including electronics, bioindustrial manufacturing, robotics, additive manufacturing, and AI-enabled smart manufacturing. The program funds capital equipment that remains in Massachusetts and supports companies at Technology Readiness Levels 4-6 with a clear plan for pilot-scale manufacturing. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed at least quarterly by the Center for Advanced Manufacturing (CAM), a division of MassTech. Recent awards include $1.85 million distributed across three manufacturers supporting up to 62 new jobs in advanced manufacturing including AI-enabled robotics.
