Mathematical Sciences Sponsorship Fund Mathematical Sciences Sponsorship Fund The Elsevier Mathematical Sciences Sponsorship Fund supports events and activities that benefit individuals and groups within the mathematical sciences community. Submissions for the 2026 MSSF are now open. Proposals are welcome for single-year grants typically ranging from US$500 to US$4,000.
The 2026 theme is " Bridging Gaps: Advancing Inclusion in the Mathematical, Statistical and Computer Sciences ." This theme emphasises the importance of creating inclusive pathways for all through innovative programmes, mentorship, and community-building initiatives.
We encourage you to submit your ideas and proposals on how sponsorship from the Elsevier MSSF could support your goals in promoting fairness, inclusion, and accessibility within the Mathematical, Statistical and Computer Sciences community.
Submit your proposal now ( opens in new tab/window ) Successful proposals should foster a strong sense of belonging, reduce barriers to participation and career progression, and create equitable opportunities for individuals at all career stages.
We particularly welcome initiatives that demonstrate sustainable impact by strengthening inclusive communities and promoting lasting positive change across the mathematical, statistical and computer sciences. The submission deadline is 30 September 2026. Submissions should be focused and well-defined, addressing the following elements: Provide a description of the objectives and key activities of the program.
A clear description of the program goals and implementation plan, including the timeframe. The total amount of the grant requested and justification for the requested amount, including a clear budget overview spreadsheet that indicates, in as much detail as possible, intended expenditures and other sources of funding, if any.
Organization and Partnership: A description of the organization requesting the grant, confirmation of its status as a non-profit entity, and a listing of key officers and staff who will direct the implementation of the program. A description of key program partners, if any.
The significance of the program’s intended impact on the mathematical, statistical and computer sciences research community or general public science, in that country or globally.
The sponsorship fund will not provide support for: Religious or political causes (including lobbying) Purchase of electronic equipment such as computers, laptops, mobile telephones, etc. Eligible proposals will undergo multiple rounds of peer review conducted by members of the MSSF 2026 Selection Committee.
This committee is composed of representatives from the mathematical sciences community as well as members of the Honorary Selection Committee, which includes the winners of MSSF 2025. We anticipate notifying applicants of the selection results in late November 2026. Please note that incomplete proposals will not be reviewed.
