McDonald's Golden Grants is sponsored by McDonald's South Florida Operators Association (SFOA). Awards grants to organizations dedicated to fueling imagination, learning, and growth in local youth, ages 5-18. Programs include mentorship, education, after-school programs, community service, sports, arts, and technology.

August 27, 2026 - The McDonald’s Florida Georgia Line Operator's Association* (FGLBU) has opened applications for its annual Golden Grants Program . This year, the program will award grants of $2,500 and $5,000 to support K-12 education initiatives, youth sports programs, and nonprofit organizations focused on mentorship, recreation, and development.

McDonald's Golden Grants is launching at a crucial time when the need for funding has never been greater. Recent government funding cuts to programs, combined with current economic pressures and a highly competitive fundraising landscape, have left many organizations struggling to continue providing youth services for their communities.

“Every day, our local mentors, teachers, and advocates pour everything they have into our youth, despite navigating a incredibly tough economic climate,” remarked Will Garcia, a local McDonald’s Owner/Operator. “We created the Golden Grants program to champion the organizations that lift up our youth.

It’s a privilege to help close these financial gaps so essential programs in sports, STEM, creative arts, and childcare can keep making a difference. ” Since 2020, the Golden Grants program has awarded $164,000 to organizations across South Georgia and North Florida. In 2025, McDonald's Golden Grants distributed $45,000 to 11 organizations.

These funds were used to support nonprofits, such as WF Neighbors Feeding Neighbors, a nonprofit organization whose goal is to serve our neighbors with dignity, compassion, and integrity by providing nutritious food, essential resources, and community support to individuals and families facing food insecurity Keke Lee, founder of IMPACT Youth Services, a nonprofit dedicated to addressing childhood trauma and supporting adolescent well-being, expressed how much the McDonald's Golden Grant allowed their students to practice self-reflection and emotional wellness.

"Support from the McDonald’s Golden Grant makes these moments possible," said Lee. "Through mental wellness and youth development groups like this one, we are equipping young people with tools to build confidence, resilience, and hope—skills that extend far beyond the classroom and into their lives ahead." The deadline to apply is Oct.
