Media Grants to Support Coverage of Countries’ Progress Toward the 30×30 Marine Conservation Target 2026–2027 | GFMD « Back to all Fundings Media Grants to Support Coverage of Countries’ Progress Toward the 30×30 Marine Conservation Target 2026–2027 Organisation: Earth Journalism Network Region: Global (preference Ghana, Mexico and the Philippines) Application Language: English and Spanish Applicants from Ghana, Mexico and the Philippines are especially encouraged, with one grant reserved for each of those focus countries and two open to any eligible coastal country.
EJN’s definition of media here includes newspapers, online media, radio, television, multimedia platforms, journalist networks, collectives, and journalism-support organisations. Civil society organisations, academic institutions, NGOs or environmental groups are not eligible, and applications focused primarily on advocacy or political campaigning will not be considered.
Former EJN grantees may apply, but organisations with an existing (active) EJN grant are not eligible. A project proposal; content-production-only proposals must yield robust, in-depth outputs, and proposals of fewer than 10 stories will not be competitive unless they add capacity-building. A detailed budget using EJN’s budget template, with justification for the requested amount.
Transparency about any use of generative-AI tools in preparing the proposal. A risk-management plan is encouraged (physical/digital security and mental health), with any related costs included in the budget. For more information, please visit this page .
