Medical Education Grants (ZEISS) is sponsored by Carl Zeiss Meditec, Inc. (ZEISS). ZEISS supports medical education that advances scientific knowledge and patient care. Funding and resources are provided to eligible healthcare institutions, academic medical centers, medical societies, and national associations.

Medical Education Grants, Investigator-Initiated Research, Charitable Donations, and Sponsorships Carl Zeiss Meditec, Inc. (“ZEISS” or “CZMI”) supports medical education, investigator-initiated research, charitable initiatives, and sponsorships that advance scientific knowledge and patient care. Funding and resources are provided to eligible healthcare institutions, academic medical centers, medical societies, and national associations.

With a strong focus on ophthalmology, ophthalmic surgery, digital solutions and microsurgical visualization, ZEISS enables healthcare professionals to advance standards of care through proven technologies and innovation. Eligible, globally based institutions, and professionals acting on their behalf, may request funding, medical equipment, consumables, or any combination thereof by submitting an application as outlined below.

The Grant/Donation Process Grant and Charitable Donation Applications Requests must be submitted 90 days or more in advance of a program, event, or proposed study timelines.

If you do not meet this requirement, your request will automatically be declined Requests for application forms must be submitted via this form: Grant-Donation Requests Specific criteria required to be submitted with application Once the request is received, an email is generated to requestor providing an assigned unique number, specified criteria as an attachment, and a link to the application form.

Note: Link to application can only be used once. Requestor then completes the application and attaches proper supporting information. Requestor is expected to use the unique number assigned by ZEISS on all its communications regarding grant / donation requests.

ZEISS sales/marketing personnel are not to be involved in the grant/donation process. All communication regarding grant status is only to be made through the Grants Committee grants. meditec.

us@zeiss. com Grant and Charitable Donation Application Review ZEISS Grants Committee will review Grant and Donation applications for compliance. Education Grants are evaluated for medical education plan alignment and financial need.

Research Grants are evaluated to determine whether they would improve clinical understanding of Carl Zeiss Meditec’s products and research & development efforts. Charitable Donations are evaluated for the advancement of medical science or education relating to vision; indigent care; and patient and public education relating to vision. Requestor receives approval or denial notification via email.

Signed acceptance of CZMI’s Letter of Agreement (LOA), and 4. 2 Signed applicable Equipment Loan Agreement, and Signed applicable License Agreement All agreements must be fully executed and returned to ZEISS at least six (6) weeks prior to the program, event or study start date in order to process the request.

Charitable Donations go through a first review by the Grants Committee and if approved, are thereafter submitted to CZMI’s President/CEO for final approval. Approval is submitted in the form of a letter from CZMI’s President/CEO. Approval letter must be acknowledged by requestor on organization’s letterhead before anycharitable donation is processed.

Tips, Guidelines and Criteria of what requestors should expect during the process. Requests must be submitted at least 90 or more days in advance of a program, event, or proposed study timelines. Criteria that have not been met will cause a delay in the process.

It is up to the requestor to ensure they have supplied all required criteria promptly. Requestors will receive an email notification of approval or denial after the committee has made its decision and confirmed within divisional budget. Please do not assume that a request has been approved.

While we receive many worthwhile requests, unfortunately, due to budget limitations, we are unable to fund them all. It is important to note that past funding does not guarantee future approval and that submissions may be approved at an amount less than the requested amount. The Grants Committee meets twice a month to review all grant / charitable donation applications.

The Grants Committee reviews applications against established criteria to assure that proposals are evaluated on their individual merit and without regard to past, present or future purchases of Carl Zeiss products.
