We collaborate with our charitable partners to address issues like access to care, affordable education, and health disparities, while also elevating community and cultural programs that help us to connect with one another. Key to our efforts is eliminating barriers to the social determinants of health - the conditions where people live, work, and play that affect overall quality of life and health outcomes.
In 2022, we contributed more than $7 million with our nonprofit partners across Ohio. Community investment is more than just dollars and cents, it also includes a human component. The heart of Medical Mutual’s charitable giving lies in our employee volunteer program, SHARE, which stands for Serve, Help, Aid, Reach and Educate.
In a typical year, Medical Mutual employees log nearly 6,000 volunteer hours helping local nonprofits strengthen the communities we live and work in. Additionally, our executives hold leadership roles on 23 nonprofit boards, many of which address root causes affecting overall health and well-being.
