Melanoma Know More's Annual Research Award Recipients MKM Melanoma Research Fund At Melanoma Know More, we believe in a world free from the impact of melanoma. We support medical research devoted to ending this disease by funding an annual grant for programs in Ohio, Kentucky & Indiana.
Grant Application Instructions Thank you for your interest in funding from Melanoma Know More We support programs in our three-state community that support research and increase opportunities for finding a cure through work with leading melanoma and cancer research individuals and organizations. To be considered in our next grant cycle, please complete the grant application by October 31, 2026. Grants will be awarded in December 2026.

com 501(c) (3) Tax Exempt Organizations Application Deadline: October 31, 2026, at 5:00 pm The Ohio State University Research on the molecular diagnosis of ocular melanoma, identifying novel targets for therapy of ocular melanoma and studying hereditary predisposition to ocular melanoma. Research on challenging melanoma cells with uniquely designed new drugs.
University of Cincinnati Department of Dermatology Research on the regulation of human pigmentation and the response of human melanocytes to ultraviolet radiation. Research on the role of epigenetic regulators in melanocyte development, response to ultraviolet radiation, and in the oncogenic transformation of melanocytes to melanoma.
You can help support this research with a donation to the MKM Melanoma Research Fund Melanoma Know More established a “Designated Fund” for the purposes of melanoma research in December 2021. This restricted fund, to be known as the MKM Melanoma Research Fund, uses its income and principal to further the mission and endeavors of Melanoma Know More.
The fund will be used to support research grants and increase opportunities for finding a cure through work with leading melanoma and cancer research individuals and organizations.

NCI Continuing Umbrella of Research Experiences (CURE) Academic Career Excellence (ACE) Award (K32) is a grant from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) that funds early postdoctoral fellows from diverse backgrounds, including underrepresented groups, to pursue research training in cancer-related fields. The K32 award supports fellows within 12 months prior to transitioning into, or within the first two years of, a postdoctoral position.
