The Education and Research Foundation Announces a New Mentored Research Grant Focused on Brain Imagi | SNMMI The Education and Research Foundation Announces a New Mentored Research Grant Focused on Brain Imaging The Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) and The Education and Research Foundation for Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (ERF), through the generous support of the Goldenberg Family Foundation proudly announces the launch of the ERF SNMMI Brain Imaging Council Mentored Research Grant .
This $20,000 annual grant aims to support and elevate early-career investigators pursuing innovative research in brain imaging and neuroscience. Created in memory of Marc Daniel Goldenberg, the grant is part of the Goldenberg Family Foundation’s longstanding commitment to advancing biomedical research through initiatives that recruit and retain the next generation of scientists.
The Foundation’s contribution helps expand SNMMI’s support of its members by funding impactful, mentored research in critical areas such as neuroscience, hematology, and oncology. The grant will be awarded annually for the next five years through SNMMI’s Brain Imaging Council (BIC), following a rigorous review process evaluating scientific merit, the candidate's qualifications, and the strength of the mentorship plan.
While applications in all relevant fields are welcome, special consideration will be given to neuroscience-focused proposals. Eligible applicants include SNMMI and BIC members who are medical students, residents, fellows, graduate students, or within seven years of completing their PhD or nuclear medicine training. The grant does not cover indirect institutional costs.
