By funding worthy but underfunded projects for organizations that strive to do a lot with a little, we aim to meet the health care needs of at-risk urban groups. Metro Health Foundation fulfills its mission by making grants to local nonprofits and through collaborating with its foundation peers.
Many factors can prohibit people from getting the medical help they need for their families, such as socioeconomic status, location, and stigma. To solve this issue, our primary focus has been to create a tangible increase in the access to primary and physical health services. Collaborative proposals that combine the resources and expertise of several organizations are encouraged.
Collaboration needs to take place among Grantmakers as well as grant seekers. Metro Health Foundation views collaborative grantmaking with pooled resources as an excellent way to address community issues. The Metro Health Foundation strives to improve access to health care in Metro Detroit.
By funding worthy, but underfunded projects for organizations that strive to do a lot with a little, we facilitate change at the community level necessary to serve the health care needs of at-risk urban groups.
