Residents in County Commission District 1 may receive funds to go toward house painting Paint and Hurricane Shutters You can get help with painting and hurricane shuttering your home.

Residential Construction Mitigation Program Income-qualifying homeowners can get help with the hardening or retrofitting of their homes, particularly to protect against a hurricane. Households experiencing financial difficulty may be eligible to apply for help to pay the light bill.

Adult Day Care offers various types of therapy, meals and other health and social support services as part of a structured, comprehensive program.

Home Care Assistance for Elderly Residents with Disabilities Residents with disabilities can receive assistance with home and personal responsibilities. Older Adults Volunteer Programs Persons age 55 can help keep an active lifestyle while helping residents in our community If you or someone you know are concerned about an older, disabled person living alone, you can request services to help with that person's caretaking.

Substance Abuse Treatment Programs Available substance abuse treatment programs include residential treatment, homeless assistance and inmate counseling. Summer Food Service Program Provides free nutritionally balanced meals to children 18 years of age and under.

Veteran Services Programs Eligible veterans, as well as their children, parents, families and widows, can get help with claims made with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Disability Services for People Living Independently (DSAIL) DSAIL provides assistance to Miami-Dade residents with disabilities ages 18 to 59.

Free computer training and computer repair classes are available for income-eligible Farmworker Employment Training Farmworkers and eligible dependents can receive vocational and employment training Four full-time psychology internship positions are funded each year and are paired with mentor supervisors in preparation to work with clients of all ages.

Youth Education, Training and Employment Services Young persons can get information about getting a high school diploma, industry training, job attainment and retention through several programs. The calendar features nutritional recipes and educational activities.

Financial Literacy Contents/Courses The Miami-Dade County's Community Action and Human Services Department, in collaboration with Dade County Federal Credit Union, is proud to offer valuable financial literacy resources to empower Miami-Dade residents.

Community Action Agency Board Behavioral Health Advisory Board Community Advisory Committees The Community Services Department (CSD) provides comprehensive social services that address children, family and community needs throughout Miami-Dade County. CSD performs functions and delivers services that address objectives of both the Health and Society and the Public Safety strategic areas.

CSD provides a continuum of comprehensive services and programs that support residents of all ages from children to the elderly. The Community Services Department’s service delivery model emphasizes a coordinated community response approach involving the active engagement of public and private providers to ensure quality and accessibility of well-integrated services.

The Department has family and community resource centers, one kiosk at the Stephen P. Clark Government Center, and outreach programs to reach under-supported areas in Miami-Dade County.

Comprehensive services include, but are not limited to, Head Start and school readiness, elderly services, veterans’ services, family and child empowerment programs, migrant farmworker programs, domestic violence and violence prevention, emergency food, shelter, utility assistance, home repair and weatherizing and substance abuse rehabilitative services.

The Department also supports the County’s portion of the Guardian Ad Litem (GAL) program, which champions for the rights and interests of children involved in dependency court proceedings.
