Michigan Home Energy Rebates (MiHER) - Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR) is sponsored by U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) administered by Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE). This program helps reduce the upfront cost of efficient electric technologies, offering rebates for high-efficiency home appliances and equipment in single-family and multifamily homes.

The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy’s (EGLE) Water Well Viewer (WWV), is an interactive mapping system that displays water wells along with other information, such as wellhead protection areas, underground storage tanks, and sites of environmental contamination. Water well locations have been identified by address matching, the use of global positioning systems (GPS), and by legal descriptions.

This system allows water well drilling and pump installation contractors to submit water well records.

Rebate amounts are based on the modeled energy savings achieved through the project. Michigan received $105. 7 million in federal funding allocated to HOMES.

### HEAR Rebates (Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates – IRA Section 50122) Supports the installation of high-efficiency electric equipment such as heat pumps, water heaters, electric stoves, and electrical wiring upgrades. HEAR rebates are available to households with incomes at or below 150% of Area Median Income (AMI). Michigan received $105.

Eligibility is generally open to Michigan homeowners, including both single-family and multi-family residences. Specific requirements may vary based on the type of rebate and income levels. Renters may also qualify for certain rebates with landlord participation.

EGLE intends to prioritize funding for low- and middle-income households as determined by area median income (AMI). * Do I need to work with a specific contractor? Eligible rebate work must be performed by an approved MiHER Registered Contractor.
