Michigan Home Energy Rebates (MiHER) Program (HOMES and HEAR) is sponsored by U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) (administered by the State of Michigan). This program, authorized by the Inflation Reduction Act, provides funding for whole-home energy efficiency upgrades (HOMES) and efficient electric technologies (HEAR) in primary homes and apartments to lower energy bills and improve energy efficiency.

The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy’s (EGLE) Water Well Viewer (WWV), is an interactive mapping system that displays water wells along with other information, such as wellhead protection areas, underground storage tanks, and sites of environmental contamination. Water well locations have been identified by address matching, the use of global positioning systems (GPS), and by legal descriptions.

This system allows water well drilling and pump installation contractors to submit water well records.

gov/egle "Home") 8. How to get your rebate The Michigan Home Energy Rebates (MiHER) Program will fund energy efficiency and electrification upgrades for approximately 15,000 Michigander homes, helping to reduce monthly utility costs, reduce energy use, and enhance comfort and indoor air quality.

The amount of funding a home is eligible for varies depending on: * The household's income, * Identified energy efficiency upgrades for the home, * Estimated energy savings, * Rebate limits (established by U.S. Department of Energy and EGLE), * The selected upgrades being installed, and ## How the MiHER process works Michigan residents can follow the steps below to obtain a home energy rebate.

We are currently accepting applications from **low-to-moderate-income residents across the state**. Download the MiHER program participation guide (PDF) ### Step 1: review eligibility * Rebate eligibility is based on household income and the energy upgrades identified for your home. * Households with incomes below 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI) may qualify for enhanced rebates. * You can check your household income level using the AMI calculator.

### Step 2: submit your MiHER application * Applications are currently open to **low- to moderate-income households only**. * If you are unsure about any part of the application process, contact **855-510-7080** for assistance. ### Step 3: choose an approved MiHER contractor * Once your application is accepted, you'll receive instructions on how to select a **participating contractor**.

* You must select a contractor from the MiHER-approved directory. * Use the **Find a Contractor tool** to find pre-qualified contractors in your area. * If your preferred contractor isn’t listed, they can apply to join the program by visiting the **Contractors page** to learn more.

### Step 4: schedule a home assessment * Your chosen contractor will assess your home to: * Identify eligible upgrades * Estimate the rebate amount and upgrades you qualify for ### Step 5: complete the energy upgrades * The contractor will complete the approved energy efficiency upgrades. * For eligible households, **up to 100% of the project costs may be covered**under the rebate.
