Micro Grant Program - Texas Master Gardener Program Skip to primary navigation Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostics Laboratory Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service Texas A&M AgriLife Research Texas A&M College of Agrculture and Life Sciences The Texas Master Gardener Association (TMGA) offers six (6) micro grants of $500 each to support impactful educational projects that provide measurable benefits to local communities.
Applications must be submitted by a Master Gardener Coordinator (County Extension Agent) using the Google Forms application. Each county may submit one application per funding cycle. Associations that receive a grant are not eligible to apply again for two years following completion of the funded project.
Selected associations will be required to sign a grant agreement and submit a final report that includes: A summary of the completed project The target audience served Quantifiable results and educational impact Grant funds will be disbursed to the participating association and may not be paid to an individual. Projects must be completed within six months of receiving funding.
A one-time extension of up to three additional months may be approved. Any unused funds must be returned to TMGA. Applications will be reviewed by the TMGA Scholarship and Grants Committee.
Funding decisions will be based on the completeness of the application and the project’s demonstrated educational impact.
Examples of Eligible Projects Equipment for an active speaker’s bureau Establishing a community garden Launching a Junior Master Gardener™ program at a local library Constructing or renovating raised beds in demonstration gardens Repairing or upgrading irrigation systems at demonstration gardens The 2026 grant application period is September 1–October 15, 2026 .
