Microchip Scanner Donation Program is sponsored by AKC Reunite. This program provides free universal microchip scanners to eligible 501(c)(3) animal welfare organizations, shelters, and rescues.

With the AKC Reunite Scanner Donation Program, shelters, rescues, and other 501c3 animal welfare organizations can apply for a free universal microchip scanner! With a universal scanner, eligible organizations can better help reunite lost pets and those displaced from storms and other disasters. Donations provided by AKC Reunite Applications must be complete for consideration.

All information will be verified. Donation is not guaranteed. While supplies last, one donation allocated per agency over the lifetime of the program, restrictions apply.

Applications are evaluated using criteria including, but not limited to, organization size, reach, disaster response participation, daily involvement reuniting pets with their owners, and whether you have a current microchip source that should provide a scanner. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry (“Registry”). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry’s database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own.
