The Jewish Education Project Microgrants 2024-2025 | The Jewish Educator Portal The Jewish Education Project Microgrants 2024-2025 The Jewish Education Project Applications due: May 29, 2024 at 5:00 pm EDT Each year The Jewish Education Project offers Microgrants in the Greater New York City area (New York City, Westchester, and Long Island) to support innovative ideas from thought to action.
We offer up to $2,500 in grants to each awardee. THESE GRANTS IGNITE IDEAS AND HELP TURN THEM INTO REALITY OFTEN MAKING A SUBSTANTIAL IMPACT ON THE INSTITUTION. You may apply for a Microgrant between $500 and $2,500.
While final reports will be due by May 5, 2025, Microgrant projects may continue until May 31, 2025. To view a PDF of the application questions, click here. It is recommended that you prepare your responses ahead of time, as you cannot save your responses as you go.
Our Microgrants are looking for innovative educational experiences in the following areas: MAP - My Aspirations Playbook : MAP - My Aspirations Playbook is our new educational framework for K-8 grade learning. This framework helps your organization identify learning outcomes that lead to thriving in Jewish education. If you pick this category, your microgrant will focus on bringing thriving to life for your learners.
Design Principles : In today's rapidly changing world, some Jewish educational models have been successful in reaching families. As we reviewed these models, we identified six design principles that are contributing to educational approaches that reflect our evolving milieu.
If you pick this category, your microgrant will focus on bringing to life one of the following: putting family at the center, adding value to a family's life, affirming diverse people and families, elevating cultural identities, prioritizing care/purposeful relationships, redefining the role of teacher and learner.
Israel Education : Israel Education can be broadly understood as any educational intervention in which learners encounter Israeli culture, history, language, politics, or some other aspect of Israeli society. If you pick this category, your microgrant will focus on facilitating learners' cognitive, emotive, social, and/or active engagement with Israel and those who live there.
Peoplehood : Jewish Peoplehood is the sense of connection between and amongst Jewish people around the world and throughout history. Peoplehood education is the practice of educating and enculturating Jewish students to develop and strengthen those connections. If you pick this category, your microgrant will focus on building and enriching a sense of Jewish peoplehood in your learners.
Belonging : As we know from The Jewish Education Project's 2019-2020 Census, belonging is the top value Jewish educational spaces are craving. By fostering cultures of belonging, you are fostering safety, respect, and kindness for all in your space. If you pick this category, your microgrant will focus on fostering cultures of belonging for all of your learners.
Mental Health : Mental Health is a key component to living a fulfilling, productive, and meaningful life. Mental Health encompasses qualities such as resilience, emotional intelligence, and promotes skill-building that enables people to navigate life's challenges. If you pick this category, your microgrant will focus on programming that promotes thriving through social, emotional, psychological, and/or spiritual well-being.
CRITERIA FOR AWARDING MICROGRANTS: Your organization must have 501(c)3 status Your organization must work within our catchment area of New York City, Long Island, and Westchester County Your experience(s) must target learners between early childhood and 12th grade Preference will be given to new applicants or applicants who have not received a Microgrant in the last 2 years, but all are welcome to apply Applications Due - Friday, May 24, 2024 at 5:00pm ET Microgrants Announced - July 2024 Final report/statements of impact due - Monday, May 5, 2025 Shareabration - Thursday, June 5, 11:00am-12:00pm ET Interested in learning more or want application help?
