Mini-Grants | Center for the Advancement of Teaching & Learning | Elon University The CATL Teaching and Learning Mini-grants support small-scale innovative, inclusive, and/or research-based teaching and learning projects designed to enhance student engagement and learning. Mini-grants can be used for course-related student engagement and can be used to fund materials or experiences for innovative, active or engaged learning.
Small grants of up to $500 support start-up and one-time expenses (materials, stipends, and so on), but do not cover ongoing operational costs. Please note : If you are using funds to purchase physical gift cards, please include the required activation fee within your anticipated budget. Options that do not require an additional cost include Phoenix Cash or digital gift cards (e.g., Amazon ).
Application: Mini-grant applications are reviewed four times a year (September 7th, 2026; December 7th, 2026; February 8th 2027; and June 7th, 2027). To apply for a mini-grant, please complete the following form. Eligibility : All faculty.
Requirements of funding: Those accepting CATL mini-grant funding will be required to complete the CATL Post-Grant Form by the end of the semester for which they have received funding. This form will require you to (1) provide a short overview of the impact of your grant, and (2) copies of all receipts for reimbursement. Once this form is submitted, your reimbursement will be processed.
Note: Completion of the Grant Reimbursement Form is required before you are eligible for additional CATL grant funding. More information: Contact Jill McSweeney .
